Coffee temperature of my Philips Espresso Machine is not warm enough

Published on 01 August 2024
If the coffee from your Philips Espresso Machine is not warm enough, try to use the tips below to improve the coffee temperature.
If your espresso machine has an option to adjust the coffee temperature, simply set the temperature to the highest possible setting.

For more accurate step-by-step instructions, you can check the User Manual of your espresso machine, which you can find in the Philips website.
A cold cup reduces the temperature of the drink. We advise pre-heating the cup by rinsing it with hot water before brewing the coffee.

Certain models of Philips Espresso Machines come with a "QuickStart" technology, which allows you to select and brew your coffee immediately after switching on the machine. However, the first cup of coffee may not be as warm. To address this, you can change the "Start-up rinsing” setting to "Automatic rinsing". This will rinse and pre-heat the internal system of your coffee machine after you turn it on.
When you add cold milk or steamed froth milk to your coffee, it will always reduce the temperature of the coffee.
The “Iced Coffee” recipe brews at low temperatures to produce a cold coffee result. Due to that, the extraction time is increased (longer brewing) to ensure the right coffee strength and flavors. This causes the brewing time to take longer and the pump to sound different than usual due to the low flow rate.
Limescale could build up inside your machine and cause it to decrease the temperature of your coffee. To descale your coffee machine please refer to the User Manual or visit our Consumer Care page.
